Geneva- United Nations 2008

The Geneva trip is part of Northeastern University's Dialogue of Civilizations Program. This Dialogue is entitled: Global Issues, Disarmament Diplomacy, and Humanitarian Action, and is led by Professor Denise Garcia, Assistant Professor in Political Science Department and the International Affairs Program.

During this trip, students examined some of the pressing problems and global issues that are predominant in the international agenda of states, and international and non-governmental organizations. The Dialogue looked at the tools and practices of disarmament and humanitarian action as ways to address some of the world's challenges for ultimately achieving peace among nations, and global development. In addition, students researched how much-needed humanitarian focused diplomatic principles can assume a prominent role in the conduct of international relations today.
