Welcome New Graduate Students
We are excited to begin another academic year and we would like to welcome the new Ph.D., MA, and MPA students. As you begin your graduate coursework here at Northeastern, we hope that you find the following information helpful. Graduate courses begin on Wednesday, September 10, 2008.
Registration
Registration will begin on Monday, July 14, 2008. You can register online using your MyNEU account or by phone at 617.373.8000. Full-time students in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences register for 3 courses per semester, part-time students register for 1-2 courses per semester.
Questions often arise regarding which graduate courses a student should take. Practice in the Department is to offer courses that are required for the degree once every year. Other course are usually offered on a "rolling basis" every two to three years. Thus, if there is a course being scheduled that you think you would like to take, it may be best to take it now when it is available rather than expect it will be offered again next year.
Department advisors will be assigned in August. If you have questions about planning your schedule, please contact Professor John Portz and he can assist you.
